The Bank of Time

The Bank of Time is the system of free of charge exchange of services and skills between people. The only currency is the time spent to do a service – regardless of a kind of the service. "Earning" hours may be used by a member or be given a person from outside The Bank of Time. The Bank of Time in Posen is one of the biggest such systems in Poland. Currently there are 80 members, since 2006 over 1500 service hours have been exchanged (!). Registration – only personally:

1. What is The Bank of Time?

The Bank of Time is an intermediary in mutual exchange of services and help between the members. The Bank of Time makes it possible to share your free time and skills with others. When you help you earn 'hours'.

As a member of The Bank of Time

in Your free time You can help someone do the things difficult to others but easy for You. Somebody can give You a hand while You really need it. Everyone can lend his or her help and everyone can ask for help from others. Every 'hour' is of the same value. We are convinced that You have skills and abilities which can be useful to people.

What can You do with Your earned 'hours'?

You can trade in Your hours for the service You will be in need of – it will be done by other member of The Bank of Time. You can give away Your 'hours' to Your friend or relative in need. 'Hours' may also be kept for use in the future.

Everyone can be a member

because age, lack of money or difficulties in being on the move are not the obstacles. On the one hand older people often need help in actions where strength is required. Relations with other people are important to them. On the other hand younger people often do not have much time for small fixes, cooking or tidying. Not everyone can help a kid with his study, knit a sweater, write an official letter or hang a shelf...

Even if nobody needs Your services for some time...

You may offer your services to The Bank of Time – we did the special account to facilitate the members who have specific offers or non-standard hours of availability achieving hours. You may help in organizing common trips, integration meetings, office work etc…. Only need to want :)
