The Bank of Time The Bank of Time is the system of free of charge exchange of services and skills between people. The only currency is the time spent to do a service – regardless of a kind of the service. "Earning" hours may be used by a member or be given a person from outside The Bank of Time. The Bank of Time in Posen is one of the biggest such systems in Poland. Currently there are 80 members, since 2006 over 1500 service hours have been exchanged (!). Registration – only personally: ul. “Voluntary service in Posen families”
|
 Within the framework of the project (used to conduct as „Equal chances – voluntary service” and „Voluntary service with MOPR”) we offer free of charge tutoring for children from families covered by help of the City Center of Family Help (MOPR) in Posen. Apart from help in education our volunteers arrange activities in children’s houses. We also organize integration meetings and holiday camps. Our aim is to eliminate sense of rejection and social isolation. As a result of different games and spending time together children will achieve skills of active and valuable spending free time as well as positive behavior. On Saturday, September 19, during the Day of Non-Governmental Organization our new campaign has begun - “Better Poznań”. Its aim is to consolidate III sector in our city and mobilize the citizens to regain their influence on the public sphere of Poznań in the spirit of the active democracy. In a few days there will be some consultative meeting with the representatives of non-govenmental organizations concerned with the demands of III sector in Poznań and the relationship between people from non-governmental organizations and municipal authorities (for example in the context of housing and letting policy ZKZL) |

The main goal of this project is social activation of Polish people, prevention of passivity and apathy, and creation of a truly civil society. Situation in which a half of adult citizens does not participate in election shows a lack of trust to democratic institutions and is simply disastrous. Our aim is to avoid the sense of a lack of influence on the government which is so noticeable among millions of our citizens. We would like to form a system in which not politics controlled by financial elites but citizens would be the sovereigns of power. We take actions in favor of participating democracy, fair trade, balanced development, environmental protection and human rights. Within the framework of this project we lead information campaigns, demonstrations, happenings, leaflet and poster actions, conferences, workshops and trainings. We also conduct campaigns connected with a particular event such as the campaign in case of Bolkestein’s directive in 2005 or currently: “Solidary with Tibet”, “Coca-Cola Boycott” or “Climate – Now!”. |

"Climate - Now!" Campaign
|  This campaign relates to World Climate Conference in December 2008 in Posen. Together with other organizations we will prepare many different actions connected with this event. One of them will be the international march “Climate – Now!” on December 6th, 2008 and the Action Global Day in favor of Climate. Activists and organizations from the whole Europe will take part in this march. In the group organizing this action will be, apart from our association, Greenpeace Poland, Greens 2004, Climate Coalition, Political Critic, Young Socialdemocracy Association, Working Democracy.
All the organizations and individual people are welcome to the campaign. Let’s together create the civil lobbing over any divisions to protect our planet!

 The Europe-wide campaign to defend a free internet access and cultural. In mid-2009 was able to block the "Telecoms Package" - the right to threaten basic civil liberties and the possibility of corporate operators of preventive censorship on the model of the Chinese Internet. The campaign has so far conducted a lobbying MPs, organized film screenings, media campaign and co-organized a street action with the Polish Pirate Party.

During this campaign we organized several solidary actions in the whole country, such as the all-Polish Race Freedom Key and Alternative Opening of the Olympic Games which was planned together with the Other Space Foundation and took place next to Chinese embassy in Warsaw on August 8th, 2008. We distributed thousand of Tibetan flags, stickers and leaflets related to human rights breaking in China and Tibet. Currently we continue this campaign. Soon there will be a meeting with a Tibetan political prisoner who will visit Poland in November.

In connection with unethical activity of Coca-Cola concern all around the world (killing trade union activists in Columbia, anti-unionized repressions in Turkey, water exploitation and toxification in India) we joined the global campaign of boycotting Coca-Cola’s products.
