Why “The Better World” ?


We've created our association, because we do not want and can not move the agenda on the enormity of the tragedy and barbarism, which takes place every day on our planet. We can not have fun if every few seconds someone dies of hunger, lack of clean water or basic medicines. When another species are destroyed and the last trees are deforest. When democracy is a fiction concealing the global dominance of the financial elite, corrapted national governments, which control the media, calling the war in the struggle for raw materials and spheres of influence. When our civil rights are commonly attacked not only in China but also in the EU or the U.S., anywhere where people organize themselves and fight for their rights.
Also in Poland, civil society really does not exist [article about suppressing the NGOs]. Political and economic elites are not interested in its development, being busy with particularistic competitions, corruption, and ensuring their own narrowly conceived interests. The educational system in building the awareness is inefficient, and the mass media discourage young people to activity, trying to bring them to the role of consumers which are susceptible to manipulation, obedient dive in the economic machine of predatory capitalism, the cost of production in factories, obsequious and not questioning the sacred commandments of neo-liberalism rats in the race ... In the race, the losers are not interested in the governing, because they are expendable, so they go to the margins of society, with a sense of hopelessness of the situation, natural life- often choose the easiest route of escape - violence, crime, alcohol, drugs [article about the social exclusion].
To change our country, and then assist other societies in the struggle for liberation and recovery of democracy, we need a new organization, new ideas, new operating quality. It is what we in the association "The Better World" every day create.

Who are we?

We are a group of socially engaged people of all ages, from different backgrounds, subcultures, college, coming out of different philosophical and religious attitudes. We are united opposition to the broad status quo of the social system of the convicting large numbers of people to a life of poverty and exclusion, marginalized their impact on democratic processes
. We join in the growing world-wide wave of protest and as far as our modest possibilities, we want to make the world a better place to live. Our dream is an international social movement for real global participatory democracy, sustainable development, fair trade and freedom reduced, only by the freedom of others, rather than oppressive laws, maintaining

the interests of financial elites and their institutions and global corporations.

How do we work?


To defeat the enemy, we must certainly learn from the mistakes of all social movements, which were betrayed before us, and they have served the ideals of cheating people and distortion of their ideas (like the first solidarity). On the other hand, to defeat the enemy, we must also learn from him (from corporations, governments, mainstream media) - the efficiency, professionalism, patience and perseverance in pursuit of the goal.
We create a new quality, both among the globalization-critical organizations, and non-governmental (NGOs). First of all, we do not just "fight the system," act only "civic" or "politically". We want to help people now, create the foundations for new relationships and social values to counter the effects of poverty and exclusion.
On the other hand, all our actions aim at achieving the objectives of the prospective - a global systemic change in the economic, mental, social and political, so that our assistance is no longer required once both in Poland and other countries :-)
We act:
- professionally – we set for ourselves high standards for each level of action - the substance, media, joint-stock company, the logistics
- successfully - we maximize the effects of even the smallest action. We plan our actions accurately and realize it so as not to be only "shares for the same action", but produce real, tangible effects. Of course - to achieve big goals we need a lot of time, effort and money:)
- flexible - the structure of the association enables rapid realization of new tasks, changing plans, responding to changing external conditions
- comprehensively - every major campaign is based on a range of activities from different areas - education, communication and public relations, independent culture.
- perspectively - we are always implementing campaigns to achieve development goals perspective. We avoid "one-off protest."

What we are fighting for?

In parallel with specific action to construct alternative forms of social and economic we build and develop our vision of the world. We go beyond the traditional divisions between "the left" and "the right", accepting to our program positive and creative concepts independently to who and under what banner they came up with. We focus on what unites rather than divides, building a program acceptable to all people who want to live in a truly democratic society, [article about participatory democracy], solidarity with those who did not succeed [article about the minimum guaranteed income], to help those who can not help themselves, by fair and ethical economy, promoting entrepreneurship, and harnessing our own selfishness to build the common good. We are alterglobalists, since most of the problems facing our country and our civilization can be resolved only at the global level, based on social and international financial institutions, global co-operation of individual nations and their peaceful integration. Our proposals for amendments and declaration of program can be found in the section "In our opinion". For some time we have also published an independent journal “Alterglobal”, currently, we are focusing on the journalistic blog.
To build a new social reality, cultural, economic and above all ethical considerations, we decided to abandon all the embarrassing "isms" to develop a new program of the XXI century. This permits us to act both as a people mindful “lefts”-revolutionaries, like the Christian Social Democrats, or ethically and socially minded right-wingers. We go beyond the secondary divisions, not only for left-right, but also gays-heterosexuals, women - men, believers – atheists or Christians - the Muslims, building an idea that will express interests of the majority of Polish citizens (and sufficiently universal to be possible to implementation at the other end of the world). Above all, however, we focus on the action:)

What do we do?


We strive to operate in all possible fields, like the system we want to change.
However, we do not want to act only "alter systematically" unfortunately as many alterglobalistic organizations do. It is very important for our work on the basics: social assistance, self-help, education for children from poor families, played by neoliberalism destroyed the basic social bonds.
Aid itself, which unfortunately is overlooked by many NGOs, is not actually enough to change something on a larger scale. Therefore, we wake people from the lethargy into which they introduced mass culture and education, are not focused on the education of an informed, responsible individuals, but consumers are susceptible to manipulation. We deal with culture, independent socially engaged art, activities that improve knowledge and awareness of global issues.
People who understand their semi-servile position towards the ruling elites and our delusion of "democracy" in the twenty-first century, to organize civil actions and campaigns - both in defense of Tibet, Palestine and Chechnya, as well as for the fight against international institutions, and governments responsible for hunger and III World underdevelopment, unfair rules of international trade, war and exclusion of hundreds million of people. We do not forget, of course, the activities of local self-government level - there must be directed first steps in the struggle for the liberation of humanity.

We want to build a better world. Contrary to what seems to tamed apathy of most societies is possible and we know how to do it. But we need your help. Do not look at others, do not search for their permission or approval. They're still asleep, and your duty is to wake up. That they saw the world in which they live, how they are manipulated and enslaved. How to make sense of their lives more and more comes down to shopping, drugs, shallow relationships and the rat race. As their right - the consumer, worker, citizen, are being increasingly curtailed. How many under the guise of satisfaction and enthusiasm of hidden frustration stemming from the emptiness and unhappiness.  
Awareness is the greatest gift you can offer your loved ones. Do you want to live in such world, do you want that our children and future generations grow up in this world?
We want what we have to deal with today - war, famine, slavery, exploitation - became only once frightening and grim story - just as today it has become the Holocaust. That we only had to monitor the activity of our representatives, that history will never be repeated no longer a current, a dark time never returned. It is really POSSIBLE. You just need to wish!
